Elders
The Bible specifies older men to lead each congregation as Elders, Bishops and Pastors.
1 Timothy 3:1-7 and
Titus 1:5-9
give qualifications for the office of Elder.
Dale Beauvais is an elder of the Hammond Church of Christ.
He is married to DeAnne and they three faithful children named Landon, Alec, and Weston.
He was born and raised in Long Beach California and was baptized at the age of 13 and moved to Northwest Indiana in 1997.
Dale became an elder in 2020.
Tom Cains and his wife Colleen have been members of the Hammond Church for over forty years.
They have raised three children, have been active in the church all their lives, and have led happy lives as Christians.
Tom became an elder in 2020.

Darrell Powell
Evangelist
Darrell Powell obeyed the Gospel on May 1, 1981 and began preaching full-time in March 1995. His passion and primary focus is evangelism and teaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
He has spent many years teaching Christ and Him crucified in prisons, drug/alcohol facilities, and in communities like ours.
Darrell is happy to listen to your story, address the meanings of life, answer your Bible questions, or just make a new friend. If you want to know what God desires for your life, reach out to Darrell, you will be glad you did.
Darrell started working with the Hammond church in March of 2025 as the evangelist and preacher. Darrell, his wife Dolly, and two granddaughters, Victoria and Harley are originally from Texas, but got to Indiana quickly as they could.
“Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord” (1 Corinthians 15:58).

Deacons
In the New Testament men were selected to meet the needs of the church. These deacons must meet the qualifications in the Bible. 1 Tim 3:8-13
Deacons perform an invaluable service, allowing the elders to focus more on pressing spiritual matters and prayer.
